Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day bookkeeping, including accounts payable/receivable and bank reconciliations.
Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports.
Handle GST/HST, payroll, and corporate tax filings in compliance with Canadian regulations.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
Provide financial advice regarding the formation and structuring of corporations in Canada.
Ensure compliance with Canadian accounting standards and tax requirements.
Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and government agencies when necessary.
Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and internal controls.
Qualifications
Proven experience as an Accountant or Bookkeeper supporting Canadian businesses.
Strong knowledge of Canadian tax regulations, bookkeeping practices, and corporate compliance.
Experience with corporation formation and advising businesses on incorporation in Canada.
Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms.
Advanced Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets skills.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial concepts clearly.
CPA designation or progress toward CPA is an advantage but not required.
